PROSA is responsible for processing on the Log4View websites except where FastSpring’s independent processing is described below.
2. Website access and server logs
When you visit the website, your browser sends technically necessary data to our hosting provider. This may include your IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser and operating system, HTTP status, and amount of data transferred.
Processing is necessary to provide the website securely, reliably, and without errors and to prevent or investigate misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is deleted when it is no longer needed for these purposes unless a security incident or legal retention requirement requires longer storage.
3. Contact by email
When you contact us by email, we process your address, message content, and any other data you provide to answer your request. Depending on the request, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual communication or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for general inquiries and support. We retain communications only as long as necessary to handle the request and meet legal evidence or retention requirements.
4. Downloads
Downloads are provided through the Log4View website. The same technical server log data is generated as for other page visits. No separate registration is required to download the software.
5. Purchases and renewals through FastSpring
Licenses and support renewals are offered exclusively through FastSpring. FastSpring is the seller and Merchant of Record and handles the order, payment, invoicing, and applicable taxes. The FastSpring Terms of Sale apply to the purchase; the Log4View EULA additionally governs use of the software.
Only the pricing pages load the FastSpring Store Builder Library from sbl.onfastspring.com. Your browser may send technical connection data such as your IP address, browser information, and access time to FastSpring. FastSpring may use cookies and similar technologies to provide and secure checkout.
When checkout starts, we transmit the selected product. For a support renewal, the license key you enter is also sent to FastSpring as an order tag. You enter contact, billing, tax, payment, and order data directly in FastSpring checkout. PROSA receives the order and fulfillment data required to provide the license, match the order, and deliver support.
Depending on the processing activity, the legal bases are Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract performance and pre-contractual measures, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR for legal obligations, and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for security and fraud prevention. Depending on the activity, FastSpring may act as an independent or joint controller or as a processor. FastSpring provides details in its own privacy notices.
6. Cookies, analytics, and external content
The Log4View website itself does not use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking services. Fonts are hosted locally. The FastSpring library is not loaded outside the pricing pages. On the pricing pages, the FastSpring notices linked above apply to technologies used by FastSpring.
7. Recipients and international transfers
Recipients may include hosting and IT service providers and, when you use pricing pages or checkout, FastSpring entities and their subprocessors. Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, FastSpring states that it relies on the applicable legal transfer mechanisms, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. 8. Your rights
Subject to legal requirements, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To exercise your rights against PROSA, email info@prosa-gmbh.de. You may also exercise rights concerning FastSpring’s independent processing directly with FastSpring.
9. Security and updates
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures and transmit the website over encrypted HTTPS. We update this policy when the website, sales process, or legal requirements change. The version published on this page is the current version.
